Movement

Ballhandling is movement with the basketball. If we can't move fluidly, powerfully, and efficiently, our ceiling is low. Our goal here is to use performance training methods (agility, lateral power, reactive core strength, and more) to boost our abilities as a mover, and then apply these qualities to our skill.

Creativity

This is missing in far too many players and coaches. Basketball is an art. To be the most fluid and overall best ballhandler, we have to play into this over the course of our development. Plus, we have more fun in training when we don't box ourselves in.

Feel

We have all played with those hoopers who seem to always make the right decisions. Who read the defense like a book. Basketball is played with 9 other players on the court, so we have to train this way. We have included live play and reactive drills throughout the program, with alternatives or pre-recorded audio cues if you don't have a partner.

Your questions, answered

The program is 10 weeks, organized into daily workouts. Each day has its own workout (example: Week 3, Day 4: Acceleration Technique), with 5 days a week devoted to skill workouts, one to mobility, meditation, and recovery, and one off day.
Preferably, a basket, ball, and partner. However, there are alternatives to every single drill that you can do with just a ball and a bit of space. No worries if you don't have gym access — I made sure that every athlete is able to perform the program regardless of their space constraints.
Each drill can be adjusted based on skill level. The program was designed for higher level ball handlers, but with the proper regressions, I have gone through the program with beginners who have been able to see huge benefits and the perfect amount of challenge.
Depending on the day, if you have a partner, and how fast you move through the drills, the workouts can last between 30 minutes and a bit over an hour. The great thing is that you're pretty in control of this, and I encourage adding or cutting out reps to perfectly customize the length of the workout.
100%. Every athlete on the Virtual Academy is encouraged to customize the workouts to their circumstances, so some workouts can be done in even 15 minutes by cutting out drills that aren't relevant in-season, demand too much physically, or even simply take too long.
